Antidote Health: Revolutionizing Telehealth!

This post is sponsored by Antidote Health.

Telehealth is something that was available before, but only in certain areas, with certain doctors. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become almost commonplace for doctors to see their patients via telehealth softwares. And, while there are plenty of apps and websites out there that offer telehealth services, one in particular is creating a great new experience for patients out there looking to see a doctor fast.

Antidote Health offers up a wonderful solution. I was gifted a free doctor’s visit using their application, and I have to say, I was very pleased with my experience. Once you download and install the app, you need to create your account, which is super quick and easy to do. I was then sent an e-mail with a very informative video tutorial on how the service works.

Antidote Health believes that every American should have access to high-quality healthcare, without paying the skyrocketing costs of doctors visits, prescriptions, tests and more. I couldn’t agree with them more on the stance that people need more affordable healthcare options!

How I Use The Service

The first time I used the service, I was actually looking for a second opinion on whether or not I had an infection in my toe. Yes, it was an ingrown toenail. With my ongoing chronic pain, it often gets hard to clip my nails sometimes, and well, I guess this happened.

I had previously seen my primary care doctor for my toe. They prescribed an antibiotic and warm soaks for my foot. But its been a week since then, and well, with the COVID cases rising outside, I had rather not wanted to visit a doctors office for just my toe. So, that is why I gave Antidote Health a whirl. With board certified physicians across the nation, it was an easy choice for me to use the app.

How The Appointment Went

I was really surprised at how easy it was to use the service. All it took was a few quick questions about my symptoms and what I was experiencing. Then I had the opportunity to make an appointment to see a doctor about it. I waited about thirty minutes in the virtual “waiting room.” Then I was connected to a very kind doctor who took the time to listen to me and took a look at my toe. He suggests that I probably should see a podiatrist, so I will do that in the beginning of the year. But all in all, the appointment was easy, the doctor took his time, I felt comfortable, I think it is a total win-win.

Prescriptions

What happens if you need a prescription? Well, the doctor sends it to your local pharmacy, of course! After your visit, you are also granted an Antidote Drug Discount Card. Which, when presented at your pharmacy, may save you up to 80% off of your prescription. The best part is, that you can use the card as often as you need to. I was sent an e-mail with the discount card immediately following my doctor’s appointment. You can access the card on your phone and show it to your pharmacist who will then give you the best price possible with the card.

Price

I have to say, their service is priced pretty affordably, too. A one-time visit is $49, which is much less expensive than a doctor’s office visit out-of-pocket. They can be upwards of $90 or more. Individual plans at $29 a month give you access to multiple visits, access to a doctor at all times, and more. It’s $35 a month for individual plus plans. Then there are their family plans – yes, they have family plans! You can cover your whole family for a low monthly fee. The monthly family plan begins at $49 for the family membership, and for the family membership plus is $59 a month.

With 24/7/365 access, you can find a doctor anytime you need to see one. Doctors can see you for a variety of issues you may be experiencing, including earaches, skin rashes, allergies, cough and cold, and much, much more! They are even working on different specialty services that they intend to launch soon. They include Mental Health, Diabetes, and Hypertension.

The greatest thing about Antidote is that coverage for your whole family, including prescription refills, unlimited doctors visits and more are quick, easy, and at your fingertips. I feel the more control that we have over our health the better, and I feel with a telehealth service like Antidote, that I am the one in control of my health, and that is important to me.
