I see you. I feel you, and in some cases, I have been there, too. It does not matter how you came to be a parent, but how you enjoy your parenting journey. Parents shape and mold children that blossom into amazing adults that do great things. It is a wonderful thing to have a day to celebrate them.
While parenting is a beautiful thing, it is anything but puppies and roses. Being the responsible person for someone who is too little to make decisions of their own is a wild ride. There are ups and downs in parenting, just like anything else. It is how we navigate these waters is what defines us as parents. How we take care of our children, how we interact with them, how we can be their role models, it is something special. Then, there are other days where timeout is a good idea. You have to balance the sweet and the sour experiences. They all mold into who your child grows up and comes to be.
What’s the best way to celebrate Parent’s Day and parenthood, you ask? Waiting until our beautiful little children are in bed and having a celebratory slice of cake while binge-watching your favorite show!
